Childe Byron
Directed by Ensemble Member Steven Scott Summer 2001
The Life and Art of Lord Byron is unfolded in Linney's inventive and
perceptive portrait of one of history's most controversial and fascinating
figures. Ada, Byron's only legitimate daughter, is dying of cancer. She is
seized with a desire to know more about her profligate father. Stimulated by
the drugs she is taking for her illness, she summons him to life and, in
sharp, sarcastic exchanges, probes into the truth behind the myth of the man
who became the symbol of the Romanticism of his time.
